Bliss

It's 9:45 on a Monday morning and my cat and I are sitting on my patio with a cup of coffee and nothing but the sound of the wind rustling through the trees and some birds still trying to get a worm-- this is peace.

There is a bullfrog down in the creek behind my apartment who makes me so happy... he reminds me of an Eric Carle book about some rambunctious "child" frogs and how he helps them to get along and share. He makes me happy because I spent the weekend in Lee's Summit with my 'rambunctious child frog' sister, getting along with her. It was wonderful. THAT was bliss. Growing up, we always were told, "someday you two will learn to get along and you will want to spend time together." We always replied "YEAH RIGHT!" This friendship really has been a long time coming. We have always gone back and forth, disagreeing about each other's choices and actions, wishing we could tell the other what to do. I'm not at all anticipating that we will never disagree again, but this is truly leaps and bounds.

Jeff and I went to LS for our friend's birthday, and come dinner time Saturday night, I was begging her to come with us. Jon is single and we were going out with him and another couple, so I asked Kara to come look like Jon's date :) We really had a great time. More fun than anything, though, was getting ready to go out, sharing makeup and hair products, and then waiting for the guys to pick us up and taking ridiculous pictures of ourselves all dolled up. I had never realized how significant that could possibly be.

I have fallen in love with my sister... that is bliss.

Oh WOW. It is great to see that you are getting along. My sister and I are somewhere in between the stages. I know it will come one of these days, but I am not forcing it. It will come on its own, I know. You and Kara look so cute in your pictures!! I know she is younger than me, but that doesn't mean I can't look up to both you AND her! I know you think I am strong, but I don't know what strong is. I just do what I have to do. I think you are strong. You have had many things in your life try to push you down, but still, you keep climbing to the top of the world and it is inspirational. I thank God for many people in my life and you are one of them. I would LOVE to see you again sometime. Hopefully sooner than later. Thanks for your encouraging words. I love you, Kylee Marie!!
