It has been a long time since I posted any sort of blog on the net that came from my very own heart and mind. I started this page about a week ago and I have been contemplating what to do with it since then. I've decided to just write. :) I am one of those people who goes out looking for a new journal--one that will fit in my purse so it's on me all the time and I can always jot things down in it to make sure I remember everything that needs taken care of--and then it will sit on my bedside table for months because the first page needs filled with something interesting. I have dozens of empty journals... books that have never been used because nothing has ever been important enough to be placed on the first page.
Okay... completely random and unrelated to anything important I might have had to say when I sat down at my computer...
I titled my page 'Ramblings of a Hopeful Housewife' and I feel as though, perhaps, the title needs some explaining. This isn't the kind of hopeful that says "I hope we make it" or "I am uncertain," rather, the kind of hopeful that wants the world to become a better place because I was a part of it, and because my husband was a part of it, and because our generation was a part of it.
In the past 5 or so years, I have been exposed to and immersed in various situations and communities that I have not always found comfort in. Prior to finishing high school, the most difficult decisions I had needed to be able to make we regarding my prom dress, my class schedule, my boyfriend and "clique," and which cookies I would have at lunch with my Fruitopia. As simple as that was, I wouldn't return to those days if I could. I don't know that ignorance is bliss. I feel like awareness has made me better.
My biggest concern these days is environmentalism. It seems strange that I could just wake up one morning and suddenly be worried about the trees and the penguins, but that is kind of how it worked. I do my part in recycling and whatnot... and I get really pissed off when someone else refuses to recycle because "how much difference could it possibly make?", but we won't get started on that whole bit.
I guess I'm just saying, I have a lot of worries and a lot of concerns. I have a lot of dreams, also. I have a lot of things I want to get out because keeping them inside of me makes me feel like I might just blow up. Most of the time, the things I have to say are completely unimportant and irrelevant. This is simply an explanation as to how I intend to use this space, and a request for your input... constructively, please. :)
I am by no means anyone particularly "different" or "special," but my husband tells me I have a unique perspective on life as we know it, and I guess I simply intend on putting it down "on paper," if you will. Please don't expect consistency, either. :)
